First Blog Task

1) Why did you choose A Level Media Studies?
I chose A Level Media Studies because I have always had a deep interest in film and TV analysis and want to work towards the creative industry (hopefully animation) in the future.

2) Did you take GCSE Media Studies (either here at Greenford or a different school)?
I did not take GCSE Media at Greenford.

4) What grade do you hope to achieve in A Level Media?
I am hopefully aiming for an A or above in A Level Media.

5) What are your current thoughts about your next steps after A Levels - university, apprenticeship, work?
After A Levels, I want to go to university either in England or abroad to study animation, but I have been thinking about degree apprenticeships in the same field too.

6) What do you think the biggest MEDIA story of 2023 has been and why?
The biggest media story about the film industry of 2023 was probably Barbenheimer. I've never seen the general public more enthusiastic to set aside outfits and make going to the cinema a special occasion again and the marketing for Barbie is its own phenomenon.

7) What media sources do you use to find out about news and current affairs?
Watching BBC News, reading articles online, social media

8) What was the last film you watched?
Ferris Bueller's Day Off (to show it to a friend), though the last movie I watched in cinemas was Across The Spider-Verse.

9) What is your favourite ever TV series?
Better Call Saul. To me it is the culmination of all the talent and hard work that was put into the initial Breaking Bad story and was the first TV show I watched from start to finish while it was airing. The Sopranos is really starting to grow on me though.

10) How many hours do you spend online in an average day? Is this too little, too much or about right? Why?
Around 4 hours, which is too much but probably still less than most of my peers...!
